Auditions (required for new singers)

An easy, private audition with a CICC conductor is held to help determine placement in the appropriate choir level. The audition also provides an opportunity to meet and talk with the conductor.

Singers do not need to prepare any material for the audition. The prospective member is asked to sing along as the conductor plays a simple song on the piano such as "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" or "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star." Singers may also be asked to echo sing a short phrase and echo clap a rhythm pattern.

Scheduling an Audition

Auditions are held during two time periods each year: May-September and December-January. Auditions may be scheduled at any time, but students typically enroll in the program at the beginning of a semester in either September or January.

To schedule an audition appointment, please contact the CICC office at 217-359-3268 or office@CICCsings.org.
